Water Management in Jordan – SMART Israel

New concepts for a decentralized water management for the Middle East are being developed in the international research project SMART (Sustainable Management of Available Water Resources with Innovative Technologies). The Middle East is one of the worst water shortage regions in the world. Together with colleagues from Jordan, Palestine and Israel, researchers from the Helmholtz Center are exploring ways to stabilize the water supply in this region. The main goal is to use scarce resources in the best possible way, therefore enabling the reuse of wastewater cycles, while at the same time taking into account religious provisions.
